Kisspeptin-10, derived from the kisspeptin protein, has attracted considerable attention recently because of its major role in stimulating the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which is a critical hormone for sexual development and reproductive function.
Research shows that Kisspeptin-10 may directly stimulate GnRH release at GnRH nerve terminals. This provides a new point of action for Kisspeptin-10, creating opportunities for potential therapeutic applications.
Stimulation of gonadotropin secretion by Kisspeptin-10 in women appears to be regulated by sex steroid feedback. This finding may be important for understanding hormonal balance and women's reproductive health.
Kisspeptin-10 is a potent activator of luteinizing hormone (LH) that affects the frequency of its release.
